BOILER SERVICING

Do I have to have my boiler serviced annually?

Let’s face it no one wants to pay to have their boiler repaired as we all know it can be costly. The best way to avoid breakdown costs is to have your boiler serviced annually.

If your boiler is under a manufacturer’s warranty, an annual service is a requirement for keeping that warranty valid and because your boiler is a gas appliance an annual service also checks that the boiler is working at peak performance and is safe for your family.

All our engineers are Gas Safe qualified and can work on both Natural Gas and LPG boilers. Our servicing is carried out during convenient time slots throughout the day and can take between 45 minutes to an hour.

When booking a boiler service with Lacey’s, you will be asked if there are any current faults on your boiler and whether it is a service that you require. A boiler service does not repair boiler faults and is not a landlord gas safety check.

We also offer a convenient pay monthly service plan which you can read more about in the service plan section.

Depending on the type of boiler that you have, our engineers as a minimum will check:

Boiler Servicing

Some boilers require other works which our qualified engineer will carry out.

If there is any necessary remedial action our engineer will discuss these with you and how we can rectify the faults.
If you are on our boiler care plan we will contact you by email and text message when your service is due.

Servicing FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions

Q How often should I have my boiler serviced?

You should have your boiler serviced every 12 months.

QWhy do I need my boiler servicing every 12 months?

There are a few reasons why you should have your boiler serviced annually. These are to ensure it is running efficiently, to make sure it is gas safe and to pick up any faults that might be occurring with the boiler before it breaks down. If your boiler is under warranty the manufacturer will require it to be serviced annually as part of the warranty. Your home insurance might also require that your boiler is serviced annually. Please read your policy.

Q My boiler has broken and it looks like the pressure needle is at zero.

The boiler pressure on a combination boiler should be at 1.5 bar. When the pressure drops below this or to zero your boiler will stop working. You should always check this first before calling us. If it is at zero please try and top up the pressure and press the reset button. If you are unsure of how to do this please give us a call.

Q How long does it usually take to repair my broken boiler?

The time it takes to repair a boiler generally depends on whether the required part is a stock item or not. Our engineers will send the part details to our office and we will contact merchants to check stock. If the part is in stock we will repair your boiler in the same day. We will always keep you informed of the timescales involved in a repair.
